AxisVM test – Displacement, Vibration Analysis

In a group workshop in HKU, I have been trying to do structural analysis with very simple mesh models, built from meshing Nurbs surfaces and exporting them to AxisVM Lite. No optimization of the mesh is done, it has triangles and quads, but those doesn’t matters. What is fascinating is the ability of AxisVM to be able to smoothly take a dxf mesh data and apply materials, supports and loads to it. Very simple way to so quick analysis.

I wont explain too much as I don’t think I’m qualified to. The following images are identical geometry,  one has opening at the top, the other doesn’t. Both looking at the maximum displacement and modes of vibration.
